Biography

I am a professional freelance writer and write fiction, non-fiction and poetry. I wrote my first poem at age six (about a spider, of all things), my first short story at age ten and my first novel at age eighteen.
For two years, I worked as a news reporter for a local weekly newspaper in Maine. In 1999, I received praise from the education community for an article I wrote on the value of music in the education system.
Today, my articles continue to focus on education and music, as well as women's issues, business, human interest, social development, the arts, health, fashion, and Victorian homes and lifestyle.
My fiction is literary and women's fiction. My completed manuscript for which I am seeking representation, and my current novel in the works, are both literary and center on relationships and the power of classical music. My poetry depends on my mood.
I have over 15 years of experience working for both corporate and non-profit organizations, which includes serving as past Marketing and Public Relations Director for the Bangor Symphony Orchestra for over four years. I have worked closely with the media, photographers, actors, advertising agencies and designers. My list of corporate clients includes businesses in and around the Brunswick, Ga. area and the list continues to grow.
I am classically trained in music - both piano and voice (dramatic soprano) - and dance - ballet, tap and jazz. I am a former actress and appeared in film for the History Channel. I have an interest in the Victorian era and have studied the time period for the last 20 years.
I am a member of the Southeastern Writers Association; and former member and past president of BNI - Business Networking International.
